Ten Wagons, One Skid: DKI’s Biggest Rail Loading System

Diamond Key International (DKI) has reached a major milestone when our 60-metre, five-module rail loading skid bound for Indonesia has cleared Mechanical and Electrical Factory Acceptance Testing in September 2026. It is our largest and most complex rail car skid system to date. The system is part of a rail loading terminal expansion in Indonesia for a leading fuel distribution operator.

Built for scale

The system has five double-sided top loading modules. Each module serves two rail tank wagons at once, one on either side, so ten wagons can be loaded at the same time. Combined flow is more than 16,000 litres per minute.

The skid is also compact for its capacity. It runs just over 60 meters long and stands 8 meters tall, yet it is only 1.6 metres wide. That narrow footprint lets it fit between rail lines while still giving operators full access to every bay.

What’s on board

Every part of the system is designed for accurate, safe and efficient loading:
  • Custody transfer metering and batch loading control on every loading arm, for precise and auditable product transfer
  • Pneumatic folding access stairs, along with overfill protection and earthing systems, to keep operators and equipment safe
  • FAME blending in selected bays, with dedicated metering and static mixing for biodiesel blends
  • Full integration with DKI’s OMEGA Terminal Automation System (TAS), PLC and SCADA
  • Continuous catwalks linking all five modules, so operators can move from bay to bay without climbing up and down stairs

Why we test before we ship

Running a complete FAT in our own manufacturing facility means problems are found and fixed before the equipment leaves our floor. For our customer, that means fewer surprises on site and a shorter commissioning period, so the terminal can start loading sooner.

What’s next

The skid will now go through its final punch list items before it is shipped to Indonesia. We'll share updates as it is installed and begins loading its first wagons.

Thank you to everyone across our team and our customer’s team who helped bring this project to this point.
